GPL is a fraud. It limits your ability of what you want to do with the source by forcing you to keep it open.

That depends on who you mean by "your" and "you".

If by "you" you mean the author of the code, then that's ridiculous. A license is the means by which non-owners acquire certain rights to use the code. The owner can do anything she wants with it. Even if it was possible for the owner to violate the license, she would have to sue herself because non-owners have no standing to sue.

Take a look at [url=http://www.mysql.com/products/licensing/]MySQL's licensing policy[/url]. There you will find licensing options for people who do not want to release their source code as well as the same product licensed under the GPL.

If, on the other hand, by "you" you mean people who want to incorporate other peoples' code into their own products - well, screw 'em. Those are the terms and they can take it or leave it. Let them author their own code if they don't like the GPL. No one has a gun to their heads.
