Intellectual property rights do have a place...
But when people abuse them, it's time to do something about it.

Some typical abuses--patent trolls, whose only inventions are the patents themselves, and whose only product is litigation

Secretly patenting standards, waiting until they are in widespread use, then suing those using them

Stealing someone else's technology, putting your patent on it, then suing the person who did all the work for infringing your patent . . .

How would you feel if you were on the wrong end of one of these or like actions? I'd be willing to bet you'd be all for reform, and in a big hurry.
