Educational Clap Trap
It's not the only or primary purpose of education but getting us ready for the world of work is one of their objectives.

The world of work uses Windows and Office.

The writer would have our schools go back to the days of the BBC computer which taught non-transferable skills and knowledge to a generation of school kids until common sense got the system back on track.

What we really need to do is stop teaching IT - which it isn't - and re-introduce simply learning to use a computer and standard office apps. Like kids used to learn how to set out a letter, file stuff, use a photocopier and send a fax.

Calling it IT just puts people off.
