Show us the proff of your claim, that MS is forced to, otherwise I'll go with the opinion that people still prefer to PAY for MS Office as opposed to using OpenOffice for free.

In truth, as long as Apple users are willing to buy MS software, MS will continue to develope that which the Mac users are willing to buy off them.

It's that simple.
