With all the problems Diebold is causing, why are governments still employing their voting systems?

-- "The technology exists to build reliable, secure --systems with accessible, voter-verified, paper --trails."
That technology does not exist in the legacy systems Diebold is trying to rehash into a secure E-voting system.

I am not generally a ludite, but technology I don't believe in technology for technology's sake.
If I go to the polls and it has a Diebold voting system, I will demand a paper ballot.
Or better yet, vote absentee as those are still paper.
