Yes RC is Release Canidate but still part of the beta cycle
and it stays there till MS is satisfied that most bugs are gone and it is stable.
Those that got only RC1 and or RC2 are not beta testers but are previewers only.
The REAL beta testers started last year in July or earlier. They also got Vista RTM Ultimate as a reward for being on the beta team.
