- Avoid Virus by not creating enemies.
-
Microsoft undoubtedly suffers from virus attacks because it has so many enemies. I suspect most of them worked for Microsoft at one time, didn't become wealthy, were not US citizens, now hate Microsoft Officers and the US, probably do not live in the US, and are by every meaning of the word foreign terrorists.
Microsoft created its own problems by fostering a mobster culture where software development literally meant waging a holy war - a jihad (Microsoft evangelists actually used that word).
Judge Jackson alerted the US population to the criminal nature of the company and in 2000 things might have gotten better owing to that and the proposed remedies - which involved divestiture.
Instead the Gates family released Abramoff and took Microsoft's gangland culture to the federal government. To speculate that Open Office is susceptible to the kind of viral attacks Microsoft products suffer from ignores the fact that Microsoft has been found guilty of antitrust violations and has created enemies.
I suspect the best thing for Microsoft products will be bringing Microsoft's criminally minded officers to justice or at least getting them out of the company. Those individuals include but are not limited to Gates, Smith, and Alchine and outside consultants associated with Abramoff, like ABA president Bill Neukom. Ballmer continues to confuse me. If he no longer thinks he can put a ham sandwich into a Windows product - if he ever did... well its hard to bet on him.
Microsoft is a national treasure, to large to be allowed to fail. The strategy of all new code, of all US citizen or at least US accredited school trained employees, of all new legal representation and of adopting industry standards is a good sign.
The continued influence peddling to defund US public libraries is related. US libraries hold data - like Tuny Act data - that is embarrasing to the crime families likd the Gates family. Crime families prefer that libraries be funded by donations rather than tax dollars because the donations can have strings attached - like removal of embarrasing books and government documents. They also dislike the notion of publically funded computer equipment because that equipment is not depricated by filters and monitors US citizens can use to identify wrong doers.
There is much work to do. Freedom isn't Free. But there is also much right with today's USA.
