More MS bashing...no thanks....
JustWaiting: whenever someone posts that MS hasn't come out with a "new" OS since XP, they miss the obvious point. Never mind the complete 180 degrees that MS made in development, the additional costs that they ate (years of development), and all the belony they take from the likes of linux "enthusiasts". I think you completely overlook the fact that despite all that "waiting" for a new OS, XP has still outsold every other OS. In fact, it outsells all the other OS's COMBINED. That in itself is a powerful statement. There have been numerous improvements to the OS since it came out, but fundamentally it has remained unchanged. Compare that to Linux. Basically the same junk from 14 years ago, but with a couple new GUI versions every two weeks. In fact, there's no point downloading the latest version anymore. By the time you finally get the ISO file downloaded from whatever mirror happens to have it (unsecure and all) someone somewhere else made another "improved" version. Probably fixed all those typos on the documentation too. Starting with "copyright 2007". In all those years of "development" Linux has lagged behind in just about every arena that PC enthusiasts care about. They are typically last in the market to support new devices, busses, and technologies. There are numerous patent infringements that are perpetrated. Not to mention that they just aren't even all that "novel" anymore either. I mean, linux has never had that "killer app" that even the Mac manages every ten years or so. I know there's plenty of folks out there that feel that Linux is their favorite of all time, but personally I have yet to find any that don't have their PC set up to dual boot into windows. If linux is so great, why do you suppose that is? Lack of legacy support? How about lack of ... everything?
