Once SUSE comes out with the modules to interoperate with MS and vice versa, who needs Samba. He wanted the contract between Novell and MS severed to save his baby, Samba. Now development on Samba will be far behind. This is probably the real reason he left. I am sure he caused a lot of trouble politiking at work and was shown the door. Everyone is expendable including CEOs if the offense is great enough.
