Maybe not innovation
But more along the lines of creating something a user(s) might need. If fact, Autodesk is in the works to create a version of LDD for linux(AutoCAD). I'm still waiting to see when it comes out, as i do support work for numerous Engineering firms. According to their support group it's being created and should roll out whenever it's done. Sometimes you have to go with an application that can work, until a big vendor that rules the market can create something for a new market gaining ground. I see most applications(third party) doing the same thing in the next couple of years myself. Linux itself is growing, and even though you may not accept that axe, it's true. It's only an opinion and in time we'll see if it comes to happen.
