I say there is no problem as long as it works.

I must have gotten lucky. My data didn't go away. I think this is more an issue of folks building an empire on the original Osborne. That is more hardware than format problem.

It needs to be done. Even you will have to do this with the old formats. No way around it.

You keep denying this and there is no way around it. By the time OSS decides, we will be retired. Need that file now. Not your timetable.

Hardware issue is many times more problematic than a format issue.

Yes it is too late. I already solved my problem before ODF was thought of. Maybe for someone else you can help out. But I bet they took care of it themselves instead of glacial decision making. I say I will not be stuck like you claim for I just pragmatically solve problems. ODF formats will not be any less secure than MS when it comes to being obsolete. From what I have seen, it is the other way around.

My data isn't dead. Just your reasoning ability. Good luck hunting down Wang or Burroughs for the file format. Some will not even give it to you. Waste of time.
