Dump that American crap OS and go with a solid German OS... Like Slackware or SuSE. Definitly stay away from Mandrake! For it is a French crap OS...

Wait let me correct myself, they are distrobutions. Anyhow there is also Debian, from what I hear the best distro for installation and dependancy resolution. Or FreeBSD with it's ports system. I am building a FreeBSD server now, very neat set-up for server side!

Bottom line, there are alternatives. Another thing you can check dependancies prior to installation also there are message boards and even Red Hats own help that can make that an easy task.

I will not argue the dependancy issue, but that is why I went to SuSE, much better system and I use Moneydance instead of gnucash (which came with my distro, SuSE 9.0 Pro.) Dead Rat err... Red Hat has lost my business and faith. The Germans seem to have it together with both SuSE and Slackware and actually, Debian is German too! So if you know anything about quality engineering then you know about Germany!
