Worked out well for Netscape.
I don't know why anyone in their right mind would develop
software for Windows. If your product turns out to be decent and
you develop a good market, Microsoft copies it and bolts it to
Windows so you can't make a dime after investing your life
savings in R&D and taken all the risk of introducing a new
product.
