I don't think jobs gained in adapting existing (functional) software to work with the latest and greatest resource hog will do anything but create drag on the economy. MAYBE if at the end of the day we are more efficient there would be a desireable effect, but that would mean fewer jobs to do the same work, which this study refutes. And given the track record (all the wonderful performance choking "features" in Office for example)it is doubtful this OS is going to be any better than the last.
