Groundhog day?
I think that all this does is make clear that Java (and JEE even more so) is losing relevance day by day. Java is solves the platform dependance issue, and JEE is there to reduce the overhead of management ... and VMWare's tools do?

Hang on, aren't we just replacing one virtualisation platform (Java) for another (VMWare) and one OS (*nix or Windows) for another (JRockit)?
