Just who is the "big gun " here
There are far more zealots and governments around the world than the number of executives at Microsoft. What is wrong with openXML? Is someone saying this should not be allowed to be a standard? With all the microsoft users worldwide?
With the fact that MS said it would work with anyone as it has Novell? That is insanity to even think about taking away the most robust system and format available in the world. Why? For the sake of hatred? That is what it boils down to.
I wish everyone that "thanks God" for slashdot etc. could see how many are getting filthy rich inside those organizations for doing nothing. Then there is Mozilla. Getting money from Google by the millions and needing to start a commercial side. Who builds the software, or what is behind the dev? Freedom loving zealots that do it for free, or the millions/perhaps billions being pulled down by the "business" side of Mozilla.
Governments around the world are too involved in open source for me. I will not standardize on Government software. It must be made by free enterprise or it's worthless.
