No need to be nasty, especially when your wrong.
A monopoly can only exist when one group can forcibly prevent others from competing with them.

No. You don't know what a monopoly is. Look it up in a legal dictionary or on the internet, then continue.
...
Ok, by now you realize that it is merely exclusive control of a commodity or market, not the forcible prevention of competition. So a monopoly is neither illegal nor unethical (as I stated.)

Consumers are free to choose Apple or Linux instead of MS. Likewise, I read story after story about how Linux is making inroads in the data center. Seems MS can't stop this either. Quite a pathetic monopoly if you ask me.

I agree, but that is not relevant. The U.S. Department of Justice's conviction that Microfact is infact a predatory monopoly is based on certain events that happened in the eighties and ninties.

You can go to the US governments website here:

For all the details.

Anyway, my comments were in response to a previous poster who decided to just make up his own defintion of what a monopoly was and then proclaim Microsoft was not a monopoly because it didn't fit with his own definition. Kind of like what you just did.
It's OK, were all guilty of sloppy thinking from time to time.
