Of course he's worried
And he should be worrying. Anybody who assumes that Microsoft (or any company) will always be succesful just because they have been in the past, is treading dangerous water. The whole world knows their business model and is striving to defeat it. Another thing seldom mentioned is the rather strong anti US sentiment that is running throughout much of the world. I have a feeling that in many places nationalism is pushing many people away from dominant US companies. The shift from Windows to Linux in many places is an example.
So I don't think Microsoft can assume a monopoly position and just cruise. The only thing that will win back markets with a strong bias is to create products and services that are so well designed, that people will "have to have them."
Unfortunately, this is not an area where microsoft excels.
