I believe you're wrong
If SCO presses on,I believe that no precedent will be set that could prevent another anti-Linux lawsuit. This suit is on the contractual issues. What they could have done, and AIUI haven't, is force a court to decide whether the GPL is legal. That was part of the rhetoric, and I think they also said it's un-American and unconstitutional, but that particular weapon is surely being held in reserve for a future suit. Trusted Computing comes before that - switching manufacturers to build PCs whose security prevents non-Windows operating systems from running, and moving all e-commerce to the same platform.

It was always expected the SCO would lose, slowly. This has just about happened now. That just means that their job is done. They stalled Linux for a year or more - during the critical term of Microsoft "Licensing 6.0". And they made more people think that Linux is kinda sleazy. That's all that they were good for and they've done it. That's what the money was for, but now it's time to take it back.
