maybe
If that is what he meant to say, then perhaps he should have but since you did make a logical answer I will reply to yours.

"""Maybe he meant to say..

That there are to many things pointing in the direction of MS in this case to just melt away. Now that suspicions have risen there could be trouble ahead for MS even if SCO goes belly up and maybe even more so if SCO goes belly up.

People will want to know if MS was involved indirectly in pointing BayStar to SCO and if so....if MS had anything to do with BayStar wanting to bail out now."""

Know what? That MS did help and did point Baystar towards SCO. No secret there, it has been shown and MS hasn't denied doing so.

"""If and I agree it is still a big if...MS realy pulled some strings here they might be in real danger here. If it can be shown they wanted to use SCO to keep Linux from snatching market share and now want out because to much seems to point in their direction..... I think there might be serious backlash for MS."""

For what reason? MS has every right in the world to help anyone they want to, either directly or indirectly, even if it does harm someone else.

"""Again it's a big if.. I think MS is smart enough to cover their tracks, altough lately it seems MS arogance has taken such height that they seem to think nothing will be able to touch them, not even when their questionable conduct is in plain sight. They just might have been careless in this case. If so we're heading for interesting times."""

Again, there is nothing illegal in what MS did. The government can look all day and as long as all MS did was help SCO, either directly or indirectly, there was and is nothing illegal about it. To be exact, in the business world, there isn't even anything inmoral about it. A business helping another company, that doesn't compete with them much, if any, against a company that does compete against them is quite normal, especially if the product in dispute isn't one the company is a player in. And no one can say that MS is a big or for that matter even a small player in the Unix/Linux market except as a licensee.
