Oh puh-lease
One could easily direct such invective at rabid ABMers, who had a geiger counter that goes off when pro-Microsoft sentiment appears to reach a certain level.

Nonetheless, the complaint is irrelevent in my case. I've worked with Microsoft's development technologies too long to be too partisan about them - I both love and hate their tools. They drive me crazy, and I find them useful.

I am not American, so I have no idea what this "commie foreign scum" business is about - something must be lost in the translation to my Canadian ears.

However, I do know that the Eolas patent is bad. Why is it bad? Because if it applies, as some say it does, to nearly any conceivable use of [embed] or [object] - then we have a situation that hurts an awful lot of people. And most of them are not Microsoft.

I don't care about the issue because of its benefit or lack thereof to Microsoft. I care about it because I already anticipate the work it is going to cost me, as a developer (me personally, not M$ or Evil Darth Gates, or anything like that) if the patent stands.

And I know that there are many like me. Which must be why Sun, the W3C, and Microsoft are standing foresquare.

Is any of this so very hard to understand?
