So you seriously suggest No Anti-Whatever?

So you admit that you are linking to a study that was poorly performed and that doesn't give you anywhere near enough information to make educated decisions about?

I did no such thing. I linked to a story that tells point blank that malware exists for Vista, and obviously the true level of security is UNKNOWN. You decided to go off and attack the study. Have fun...

All point to the plain fact that Vista security, while maybe better than XP out of the box (depending on OEM configuration), it is a big unknown.

It is more secure, by default, than any of the competition

Why are you so fascinated with AV as the only method of protecting an OS?

I could care less about AV, I use Linux. For the 98.387% (made up out of my butt, but probably close) of the population that aren't you, AV is about the only thing actually protecting them on the internet, so I would deem it a critical topic. Are you suggesting that everyone run Vista with no anti-(whatever) installed?

The only thing I would change for Vista is that IE7, for the time being, is safer than Firefox due to it running in a sandbox.

Now that's funny. She have outlook installed? Sure, it isn't *technically* an IE flaw, but it hooks to a program seamlessly, like much of the rest of the OS with unfettered access.
