Wow, balance!
This is one of the most balanced articles ZDNet has written
of late, well done Ina, Richard and Matt.

My only quibble is that Apple's approach is not so much
"proprietary" as it is "closed". Anyone who maintains
copyright or patent over a product has a proprietary
product - including MS and Real.

Apple is a successful business,: let's hope they stick
around. No one wants them as another Mircorosft, but at
5% of the PC market that won't happen anytime soon.
