Ya gotta admit, MS would be awsome if they focused!
First you tell me that MS steals all their tech, then you say they are the only ones developing Windows. Hey, you can't have it both ways.

Plain and simple, MS is the only one developing Windows ... you can admidt that can't you? I didn't say MS stole IBM technology but the history of Windows (the OS not the GUI) does trace back to a pissing contest between IBM and MS over who understood better how to design an OS for business use. IMO history will show the smarter move would have been for Gates to keep IBM onside ... they would be the corporate standard for mission critical distributed apps if they did. Sure they have tons of boxes deployed but they are still trying to get their OS & APPS deployed in strategic rather than tactical roles - companies run on the back end not the desktop!

Now as To IBm spending a few buck, I'm certain they do. But as so many have pointed out there are at least 100 non-paid programmers working on open source for every paid programmer.

Now I'll take a deal where I pay oen guy and get 100 guys to work for nothing anytime I get the chance...

Gotta agree with you there. MS needs to stop trying to play "me too" and split the world into "must have" and "willing to share" and "don't care" segments. They simply can't hold back the tide ...
