And so it goes

Microsoft isn?t out of the running but they have taken a major blow by Linux. The fact that Vista is really crap and that the latest offerings from MS have proven to be junk, it?s no wonder the house of cards are now falling.

Since IE7 I?ve had to instruct my clients, and my family to remove it. It was part of a critical download that installed itself. It was prone to crashing, slowing down the network and in some cases, caused the OS to reboot over and over with no recourse but to rebuild the machine. My own sister was at wits end with her system until I discovered that IE7 was loaded. Once removed, her system ran fine. One of the employees in my clients place lost connectivity to the USB printer which was directly linked to her machine. The system crashed countless times. When we uninstalled IE7 it crashed the printer. We had to reload it.

When Windows Defender came out, if it didn?t initially load right or something caused it to crash the service, uninstalling was a nightmare. Those who share my pain look toward either staying with XP and SP2 or move to Linux. It?s not a pretty site and quite rightly, a smarter move then to jump for Vista. Chances are extremely high that Vista will cause many a company to fold or to lose countless hours in tech support only to reformat or degrade the OS back to XP for stability. I don?t doubt that the theory behind Vista is a good one, but it?s only theory. Now that the French have switched over, I wonder who will follow. I do know that the European Union, though they are leaning toward Windows due to the compliance issue, but Linux is a strong contender. Since the cards are stacked against Windows, I don?t seem them going anywhere but down.

I no longer have a love of computers due to Microsoft?s history of strong-arming their way into the lives of people all over the world and making all these claims which, to date, have been nothing but collective hot air.
