Not a bad reason (if it was true)
If all the various versions did a good job of handling each others documents then I might agree but MS wants you to upgrade. So when 1 user in any type of group gets a new version now no one else can read his documents and now everyone wants the new version. Its not an upgrade its a virus. Now its true that the new user could save his documents to the prior format (still not very compatable). The problem is the new user is --allways-- an idiot so he can't do that. He's too stupid to save properly and he's too stupid to know that he already wasn't using about 97% of the features of the last version he forced the office to upgrade to. I have found that so far Open Office seems to be at least as compatable with any version of msoffice as any version of msoffice is with any other msoffice
