That it shopped around looking for any venue that would apply a penalty (summary, no prior notice to defend) to Lindows.com while awaiting a U.S. decision. You're absolutely right, Lindows hasn't the resources to defend its corporate name in every country in the world. An effective tactic, if not one calculated to engender respect.

"No Ax to Grind" must mean overall neutrality on Europe:

Europe helpful to Microsoft GOOD
Europe not helpful to Microsoft BAD

Okay, no ax to grind. Just took a while to understand.
