You mean like RealMedia running to the EU?
If I understand the situation clearly, MS did in fact file a suit in the US courts as well as other courts and is awaiting an appeal in the US. And yes, either way the US courts rule I will accept and stand behind.

However, they also had a NEED to file the same suit in other countries. As you have pointed oh so many times in the past, US decisions don't control the world. MS had to file several suits at or about the same time to protect their trademark in these other countries. To do anything else would be foolish in the extreme.

And on a final note, the folks at Lindows aren't totally without a clue and had to know the name "Lindows" was going to wake the sleeping giant. They KNEW they would end up in court (receiving a great deal of press) and apparently wanted it to happen. (That or they really are naive!)

It seems your only argument here is that MS didn't go about it in a half way manner and threw their resources at it. Um, I hate to be the one to tell you but that is exactly what they are supposed to do and exactly what the stockholders would demand. The trade name "Windows" has a good deal of market value and they would not want to see it undermined. Perhaps that is why most countries have trademark laws, yes???
