A mathematical theory is "arbitrary criteria"?
I can't believe you think that. I am not trying to assert my expert status, I am hoping that you might try and educate yourself in a key area in modern computing technology. I don't pretend to be an expert, I hope I am still learning, there is certainly a lot to learn.

I don't claim to be an expert. However I would say that the statement you make in the second paragraph is false.

If the goal of the database management system is that you cannot assert an inconsistent proposition in the database then the lack, for example of contraints, proves that the database will return inconsistent results (that we therefore cannot trust) in exactly the same manner that aerodynamic theory can state that a particular airliner will be aerodynamically unstable.

Please come back when you have some background. Understanding fundamentals is understanding fundamentals, it makes you a journeyman and not an "expert".
