You criticize all of these databases for not being "relational"; but what's the point? What profiteth a DB to become relational, if it never come to market?

And who spouts these theories, anyway? If they don't describe anything that's real, then what good are the terms? Are we talking about the Platonic Form of "relationalness", here? Or is there actually a reason (other than "to be relational") that someone would ever spend the time and effort to make the database perfectly relational?
