Conspiracy implies evil; M$ does good Sci-Fi
"Microsoft will work with Novell and actively contribute to several open source software projects..." is what the announcement stated on November 2.

What is Novell known for in open source? Its Mono. Microsoft - well nothing open source.

This Mono thing is not a conspiracy. This is a plan. A very good one at that! Office Live could be a killer Mono web service. But it was likely not developed for the performance characteristics of multi processor machines, like Mono probably is.

The notion that M$ is turning good (well at least a good competitor by adopting Linux and open source) has to be put in the context of what happened in the US regarding the recent election. I think M$ has to turn good.

The following failed conspiracy of influence peddling all seams true and can be confirmed with basic web searching. But continued fact checking is always good. Everyone - especially mighty mighetto (me) - needs an editor.

Go back a ways. 6 years. Slade Gorton, a Republican, gets booted out of government and Marria Cantwell of original-complainer-to-the-EU Real Networks takes his place in the US Senate.

Slade Gorton goes to work for Preston Gates and Ellis, the firm that groomed Abramoff. Later Slade gets appointed to the 911 commission, showing his influence and loyalty in what became known as the republican culture of corruption. And Microsoft gets out of any meaningfull sanctions steming from the good work of Judge Jackson and Reno's department of Justice (DOJ). This is done with the help of Abramoff recommended lobiests, and Ashcroft a politition - former bug exterminator - whoes polical career was financed by Microsoft and who actually lost to a dead person before taking Reno's old post as the head of the DOJ.

Recently - a year ago? Real Networks is made an offer that can not be refused by Microsoft and drops its complaint to the EU antitrust commission. But the EU commission sees crime against polite society and continues on.

Recently - a week ago, Slade Gorton's, former campaign manager, runs against Real Network's Cantwell, likely using funding from a Cuningham-like real estate deal. This is where Microsoft purchased property (likely above its fair market price) from the company McGavick was president of (Safeco). His company then gave McGavick a multi-million dollar severance package, several millons of that "personal money" then being used by McGavick to avoid campaign finance laws. This theory was not disproven. But he looses to Cantwell anyway.

On the side, crime fighter Reichert finds himself battling former Microsoft .Net executive Darcy Burner in one of the most highly funded political battles in Washington state. Burner, a democrate is in every way connected to the Jackson described mob that operates Microsoft.

The stun gun was stong. Like a Sci-Fi light saber.

There is nothing so powerful as the truth - nor as strange.

Where am I missing something? It is an amazing conspiracy - even more so if really true, which is is meant to be. The notion of Microsoft going Linux is far less amazing eh?
