I participated in the Beta
and was on tap for paying 29.95 a month for Live Office Essentials when it gold. Then MS told me that I was being automatically upgraded to Live Office Premium for $39.95 a month. It just wasn't worth it and I'm out of now.

The Web hosting and email accounts are certainly not worth $39.95 a month. The web site as some hooks for managing employees but is based a sales org. business logic that is painfully hard (slow) to remotely configure and adjust for other types of businesses. It is also very vague with its documentation where the word site my represent the Live Office collaboration area (the site you use) and the external web site that is controlled in Live Office (the site your customers see).

If you could pull the collaborative code (database actually) down and set it all up locally, it would make the service much more attractive. But everything must be done through the site manager interface and its an extremely time consuming process to make the business logic substantially different than the canned MS starter data.

It's a nice try, but I don't see small businesses (the target market) flocking to this service anytime soon. Not without better editing and management tools anyway.
