Its about Web 2.0 Microsoft is terribly behind. This deal is catch up.
From Windows IT Pro page 48

"One glaring ommission in Sharepoint's document-management capabilities is that you can't easily restore files accidentally deleted. In additoin although versioning is avalable, Portal Server and SharePoint Services remove all version history after you delete an item. Besides these file-restore problems, SharePoint has a relatively weak backup engine, which doesn't give you the option of performing single-file restores from a backup."

Compare and contrast with oh-I-don't know anything? Web 2.0 is about wiki. Its Wikipedia; its Google. Microsoft is so far behind that it reminds me of FrontPage back at the start of the world wide web. The company very clearly is behind and we should see that this deal is a good one for Microsoft as well as Novell because Novell really can help with things like the above.
