No it is not a theft
"Content makers have sought harsh penalties for downloading copyrighted materials from Internet file-sharing networks such as Kazaa or burning songs onto blank compact discs, saying it is a form of theft."

As far as burning on blank disks it is not a theft and we have to cope with that idiotic interpretation by lawyers. As long as we do not distribute that music we should be able to copy it for personal use.

I recommend everybody to ignore that part of burning to blank discs. I will do that myself. I do not give access to records to anyone and the only reason why I copy is convenince of personal use.

Anyway I will make what is needed to continue doing that however if I am forced I will be doing that in hidden. I am not a distributor of arts to people who don't pay for it. Never been member of Kazaaa or Napster community. Since I am not part of illegal distribution I don't feel it is fair to limit my option to keep multiple copies (or at least one) of legally purchased music.

Either way if I am forced I will be supporting people who write programs enabling my standard way of convenient living. If this is a program let it be. I purchase CD with music and I decide what format I keep it in and if my original is kept home and copy in my car to avoid damage.

Good luck,
European in the USA
