Don't think that would work...
Let's say a chemical company "ABC" makes a product called 'A'. Millions of SPAM are floating around about product 'A'. Perhaps possibly ABC hired through their marketer to advertise, but the marketer is the responsible one, not the manufacturer. Never hold up in any court...

My problem with this and the CAN-SPAM, with all the justifications... what about cable and radio SPAM? All those ads are SPAM too. How about banning them from the normal channels. Create a few channels for JUST advertisements. Everything that justified the email SPAM to what it is today, same with tv and radio ads. Flat out annoying and worthless in most cases. Yeah, too much money in the biz to can it.... DUH! I would switch to satellite, but I must maintain all channels on my cable in order to keep my cable internet. No DSL where I live sad
