Microsoft + Novell and UNIX
Last time M$ partnered with Novell to tackle UNIX dominance it busniess networks, the only result was a quick stab in the back for Novell once M$=B$ marketing had taken sufficient hold. The real threat is Oracle not Redhat, M$ just doesn't want to admit the level of threat by Oracle as it creates even greater expectations for Oracle's success, which will create a greater boost for Oracle's entry into the Linux market. IBM of course is leading in Linux and M$ doesn't want to point out that it is loosing against them already. I doubt the sun has set on Sun but they really do have to get a wiggle on to create a new identity, I would have thought a parthership between Novel and Sun would be far healthier for both of them.
