I agree; hard work, dedication, and quality are meaningless.
To most, but it's becoming more universal every day. sad

The trouble is, the hidden costs of offshoring (degredation of the homeland and the people within, cultural barriers, time zone barriers, linguistic barriers, and so on.)

Never mind many of the countries we offshore to are increasingly not happy with the USA and before now they were either indifferent or antagonistic anyway. It also puts their own integrity into question when they merrily bite the hand that feeds. (they can't hate us while giving them our economic strength... and no American would come up with a restaurant named "Hitler's Cross" either, ouch!) There is always a line and they crossed it long before any American has (you can't hate a country while it gives you everything you want), and pointing out the dangers and hidden costs of offshoring is hardly crossing a line. Not when we are concerned for the homeland too!

It also isn't globalization when the cost of living and wages of Americans hasn't been altered to match the countries we offshore to. And that is the core reason why more Americans are not furthering their education. To spend tens of thousands of dollars on big degrees that will get them nowhere in the end because all the jobs are going to somewhere far far away and all that's left is that cashier position at Mal-Wart department store...
