When you sell Blue Sky...

The thing no one really wants to talk about here is that if you have nothing proprietary you have, umm nothing the next guy doesn't have.

Face it, for a minimal investment anyone (you, me, bubba down the street) can be a Linux distro. But your selling support you say??? Well, we just seen that support is about who will do it cheapest.

Cheap Linux support may well be somthing that is offered by One Hung Low in who knows what corner of the planet. At next to slave wages it's going to be very difficult compete on service and support for an American company.

So what are we looking at? Linux distros that anyone can put together and sell (or download from the competition for free) and a service model that puts you head to head with a call center is some low wage part of the planet.

Slice it anyway you like but Red Hat is in massive deep kaw kaw and they know it.
