Actually very smart for Novell
It might give SUSE the edge it need to be the stand-out Linux flavour, where others are just so bland!

I almost made the move to Liux (SUSE in fact) but two things held me back again. The attitude so often displayed by the community stands as one (although no_brain...I mean no_axe shows that it is an attitude exclusive to the Linux community!) those - the other is software compatibilities.

The 2 main software suites which will have to be FULLY compatible with Linux before I can even consider the move are MS Office (Open Office is jst too weak an alternative) and CS2 suite. At least theis deal may end up taking care of one of those....now if Adobe can follow suit, SUSE would stand pretty well suited to do what so many other flavours of Linux have FAILED to do - that is to be attractive and usable for the REGULAR/MAINSTREAM PC user.
