Ummm .... dont' think so.
As someone who is working on some "DotNEt" projects and a LINUX fan, my understanding from MicroSoft support, is that whole idea is the calls will "dummy" down to the least common dominator.
Meaning if you do not have something that came from the WINDOWS envrionment, the CLI will find the closest match it can.

Overall I will have to give MicroSoft credit, where due, the Whole DotNet idea is simply amazing. A true Write Once Run anywhere CLI, a standard across the board interface, fairly resource effecient.

Heck they have even FOOTED the bill to have a REAL native Python implementation done (CAlled IronPython) as well as helped out with a GTK port
called GTK# ....

Now all we need is peace in the Middle East ...
