Let me say this about Identify BlackBox. It?s a very good product ? no doubt about it. Forget trying to get it unless you're a large company with a v.large dev budget.
To answer the previous comments:
It costs minimum 100k USD, for a small ISV. My company was quoted 500k Euro for enterprise wide license. I?ve heard figures higher than that. On top of that, there is an annual maintenance fee of around 10%, plus consultancy fees. They charge based mainly on the number of analyst consoles and how many employees the company has.
That?s why you don?t see the price on the website. If you are an enterprise, if you contact them ? then they will only deal with director level responsible for the software development. Yes, it?s ?hard sell? ? it has to be at that price.
Is it worth it?? They seem to think so. My company didn?t.
I?ve tried to buy the software for a friend running a small scale 2nd level support service, but I was basically chased away. He could pay 60k or 70k USD for this, but they?re not interested. Which is a shame, as the software is good in the support arena ? but they want to only sell to the application development community.
Bring on Vista, I really hope MS open up their in-house debug tool, which does around 75% of what Identify?s Appsight\BlackBox does.
If anyone has any other questions about this ? let me know.
