Is that even possible?
When I went to work for a Microsoft-dependent company, they
set up my computer so I didn't have any administrative
privileges. That lasted about a day. The problem was that while I
could run programs, I couldn't modify the preference files, so I
had to re-set my preferences every time I launched them, and
some of them opened annoying alert dialogs telling me I
couldn't modify this or that.

In other words, they haven't really got the whole user account
thing figured out yet.

I also couldn't access the network without logging on to every
machine I access, which is a real nuissance, since I have to
access so many different servers. They don't want me to save
anything on my local drive because apparently their experience
is that the machines are too unreliable.

Now, if you tell me the network administrator is an idiot, no
argument. He clearly is. My first clue to that was when he told
me I couldn't use a Mac. But it's been my experience that
Windows and idiots come hand in hand. You can argue all day
long about whether the problems are the fault of the idiots who
designed it, the idiots who administer it, or the idiots who use it,
but I just as soon give them all the boot. It's just a horrible piece
of software, and I'd rather not have anything to do with it.
