Easy to avoid
(1) Root is disabled by default in OS X, and isn't easy for n00bs
to enable in the first place (not documented in manuals). (2)
Normal users can only risk wiping their home dir. (3) Easy to
make this harmless. Just email the raw MP3 file and the trojan is
stripped from the binary.. or ftp/sftp/mv/cp the file and it
becomes safe. This isn't a UNIX hack. It involves the method Mac
OS X handles old carbon apps, where info is stored in a resource
fork (ancient file structure). Once this resource fork is stripped
the trojan is rendered useless. Almost all modern computers use
the data fork ONLY, including OS X. As long as the MP3 isn't sent
stuffed in a .sit file the resource fork isn't included.
