WOW, call it obvious: Poor Management Scapegoat
Clearly there is a limit to what can be spinned. The marketing of SQL Server 2005 as the leading database, then changed to "a leading database", then claimed to be the the fastest database on Itanium with Itanium being recognized as itanic is not a track record of success. Forcing Access users to the product is not customer friendly either.

I think Flessner a scapegoat for Ballmer's inability to keep good relations with the owner of Crystal Reports and Intel.

On Crystal, Microsoft Visual Studio users have come to expect Crystal Reports support in Visual (now Vista) Studio, which is included in Microsoft SQL Server 2005.

Every version of Studio since Visual Basic 5 has had that support. It is just expected.

Microsoft studio users do not care that the current owner of Crystal Reports is Business Objects and that Business Objects has been positioned by Microsoft management as its arch rival. We all just want Microsoft to pay Business Objects what they want and keep the support in the version of studio that comes with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or laking that, at least put hooks into Studio that are like Eclipes and allow Business Objects to create a plug in.

Those who make our shops battle fields should not be allowed to play in the Web 2.0 world. Have we learned nothing?

Thanks for the news. Very timely. When does Alchine go? Is Ballmers job on the line?

The more Microsoft rids itself of officers who have the smell of the mob to them the more likely Microsoft will ligitimize itself and be viewed favorably by its customers and government regulators.
