that is all true
but it's not an all or nothing proposition. Even Google is seeing that they/anyone hoping for real functionality and speed will need a client piece. So there you are back to installs, updates and all that. Plus I don't think people are going to start lugging around thin clients that need an internet connection to get something done. YOu are still going to have an OS and apps locally, so that point is moot.
Microsoft has been developing smart apps for some time now. Since the 90s. I think they will be in play when it comes down to it. Some don't think they are capable of it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, eh?
