Linux/HP/IBM killer...
Yep, you have half the equation. Better interop between Java and .NET...

Next comes better interop between Windows/Solaris - Hey Ellison - you hear MS coming at ya yet?? Hmmm??? Whatcha think about SQL Server running on Solaris - with DTS hooks native to .NET AND Java? And with them hooks gets you native access via Apache AND IIS??? Got them ******* in a knot yet?

And like, hey HP/IBM - Yo Carly!! - if Oracle keeps sliding away, what is your share of the Data Center gonna be then? And even if Oracle hangs in there (which I hope does happen, btw) - why oh why would anyone want Linux or HP/Unix or AIX if it don't talk the same way Solaris/Windows is gonna?

Open Source dudes - patented software versus GPL - hmmmm. Yep, Linux and open source might be the greatest thing since sliced bread and the electric toaster, but if the market moves away from you, well it's been fun knowin ya.

Next couple of years is gonna be fuuuuuuunnnn.
