Put bluntly: You have absolutely no clue.

Linux has been demonstrating itself worthy to take the place of Solaris or AIX for quite some time now. Linux now is even the number one platform for Oracle and has displaced Solaris in this regard. Even meek and backwards IT departments are moving toward Linux.

The fact that Linux has this "cred" is why Oracle is even bothering with this move.
