Honestly, I wondered when it would happen.
The big claim to fame for Linux is that ANYONE can use it. I've believed for some time that a large player (like Ellison) would pick up the ball and run with it once it reached some point of acceptability with business.

Of course the "community" will continue to improve the kernel for him for free, it's what they do.

They only thing that surprises me here is that it wasn't IBM.
