a) I've just checked and you can't download it yet, so if you're stating that you downloaded it and installed it then you're full of it. As of right now only 6.06 LTS is available on the official website and the RC for Edgy, not the final.
b) "The long tedious install process"??? 6.06 takes just under 20 minutes to install on my machine.
