I think that with the right software and reader . . .
You could completely redo the whole Textbook market. Imagine having all of your textbooks on a small reader you can fit in your pocket. The tech is here, the software is here. Now we have to get the publishers out of the way and haul their ancient, decaying corpses out of the dark ages, and make high school and college texts affordable . . .

Yeah, I know. Fat chance. But if there was ever an argument for Government intervention, this is it. I don't usually care for the Feds and the state boys to meddle in commerce, but in this case I think it's justified. We have School systems that can't afford new textbooks. Students end up either sharing books, or being given the books, but not being allowed to take them home for fear they couldn't be replaced if lost (Don't laugh, this actually occurred at my daughter's elementary school). Maybe E-books will be the way to go, now that the tech has improved . . .
